The 6-foot-9 Morgan joins KT after a year-long stint with AEK Athens
Suwon KT Sonicboom has signed center Jordan Morgan as its newest import, the team announced Monday. Morgan is expected to replace KT’s current big man, Jeremiah Tilmon Jr., who joined during the offseason.
Standing at 6-foot-9, Morgan last played for AEK Athens in the Greek Basketball League (GBL), where he averaged 7.7 points and four rebounds.
From 2010 to 2014, Morgan attended Michigan, helping the Wolverines capture three Big Ten regular-season championships (2010, 2012, 2014) and earning 2013 All-Big Ten Defensive First-Team honors. After going undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft, he launched his professional career with Italy’s Virtus Roma. Since then, Morgan has played in Russia, France, the NBA’s D-League, and more before signing with KT. Although American-born, Morgan is a naturalized Slovenian.
Morgan’s arrival likely signals the end of Tilmon Jr.’s tenure in Suwon. Brought in as one of two new imports for the 2024-25 campaign — alongside Rayshaun Hammonds — Tilmon Jr. has averaged 6.5 points and 5.5 rebounds over 11 Korean Basketball League (KBL) games. KT currently sits fourth in the KBL regular season standings with a 7-4 record.
While Tilmon Jr. has shown stronger form in East Asia Super League (EASL) play, averaging 13 points and 9.5 rebounds in three games, his overall inconsistency may have led to this roster change.
Morgan is set to make his Suwon KT debut on Nov. 28 against the 10th-placed Seoul Samsung Thunders. His first EASL appearance will follow on Dec. 4 against the B.LEAGUE’s Hiroshima Dragonflies. At 1-1, KT is third in Group A, while the undefeated Dragonflies are in second. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. CST.
