Taoyuan returns to EASL after reaching second consecutive P. LEAGUE+ Finals
The Taoyuan Pauian Pilots have officially qualified for the 2025-26 East Asia Super League season after reaching the P. LEAGUE+ Finals for the second straight year. Their return to EASL comes less than two months after finishing as runners-up at EASL Final Four 2025, where they fell to Japan’s Hiroshima Dragonflies.
Taoyuan has been dominant throughout the 2024-25 P. LEAGUE+ season, earning the No. 1 overall seed with an 18-6 record and averaging a league-best 102.3 points per game. With just four teams competing in the 2024-25 P. LEAGUE+ season, the Pilots’ top finish secured them a direct berth into the Finals — and with it, another EASL appearance.
During the 2024-25 EASL season — their first in the league — the Pilots defied expectations. They finished the group stage 4-2, secured a Final Four berth in Macau, and upset Japan’s Ryukyu Golden Kings in the semifinals. Taoyuan ultimately came up just short in the Final, falling to Hiroshima 72-68.
Taoyuan’s EASL run was also highlighted by the breakout performance of Chinese Taipei international Lu Chun-Hsiang. The reigning P. LEAGUE+ MVP averaged 19.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game, earning All-EASL Team honors. Lu has continued his strong form domestically this season, posting 17.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. He is joined by import duo Jarrod Jones and Julian Boyd, who combine for 37.3 points per contest.
In the upcoming P. LEAGUE+ Finals, Taoyuan will face the No. 2 seed Taipei Fubon Braves, who defeated the TSG Ghosthawks in the semifinals. The best-of-seven series is set to tip off on May 5.
