Fubon Braves return to EASL, face Taoyuan in the P. LEAGUE+ Finals.
The Taipei Fubon Braves of Chinese Taipei’s P. LEAGUE+ have secured a berth in the 2025-26 EASL season after advancing to the P. LEAGUE+ Finals. Their qualification marks a return to EASL after a one-year hiatus, having previously competed in the league’s inaugural season in 2023-24.
The Fubon Braves finished the regular season as the P. LEAGUE+ No. 2 seed and faced the No. 3-seeded Tainan TSG Ghosthawks in the playoff semifinals. After taking a 2-0 series lead, Taipei dropped Game 3 on the road before bouncing back to close out the series in four games. Now, the Braves are set to face the top-seeded Taoyuan Pauian Pilots in the Finals as they chase their second P. LEAGUE+ championship in three years.
Taipei qualified for the 2023-24 EASL season after winning the 2022-23 P. LEAGUE+ title over the New Taipei Kings. However, their EASL debut was a tough one, as they finished last in Group A with a 1-5 record. Before EASL’s home-and-away season format launched, the Braves also participated in the league’s earlier tournaments — the Super 8 (2017), Terrific 12 (2018) and Champions Week (2023).
This year’s Fubon Braves are led by import Nick King and local standout Chou Kuei-Yu. Despite missing significant time with injury, King averaged 23 points and 9.3 rebounds, while Chou was named to the P. LEAGUE+ Defensive Team. Taipei also features legendary guard Lin Chih-Chieh — nicknamed "The Beast" — who at 42 years old is still contributing after a decorated career that included six CBA All-Star selections.
The P. LEAGUE+ Finals between the Braves and Pilots is set to tip off on May 5 in a best-of-seven series.
