October 25, 2023 – Anyang Gymnasium, Anyang, Korea
Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters led from beginning to end in their Group A matchup this evening against Taipei Fubon Braves. Jung Kwan Jang’s powerful performance brought back memories of their dominance at EASL Champions Week earlier this year.
Post-game triple
- No Spellman, no problem
The Red Boosters are missing their star big man, Omari Spellman, through injury. The starting roster tonight were able to pick up the slack. All five starters scored in double figures, led by EASL Player of the Game Bae Byung Jun with a game-high 18 points.
- Anyang get a boost from beyond the arc
Jung Kwan Jang were hot from deep, going 12 of 25 from three. Bae led the charge with six threes, hitting five of seven treys in the first half.
Six players from Anyang recorded a three in the game.
- Defensive breakdowns cost Fubon
On the other side, Taipei Fubon Braves had a frustrating day on the defensive end, allowing the Red Boosters to shoot over 55 percent from the field.
The Braves often gave Jung Kwan Jang wide-open looks and free lanes, and the Korean-side capitalized. Even off missed shots, Taipei allowed Anyang to score 15 second chance points.
EASL Player of the Game: Bae Byung Jun, Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters
Sharpshooter Bae Byung Jun had a field day beyond the arc, going six of 11 en route to an 18-point effort. Bae also added two rebounds and two assists to his line.

The 33-year-old guard has cemented himself in the starting lineup and will be a big part of Jung Kwan Jang’s quest to defend their EASL title.
