San Miguel’s June Mar Fajardo wins 11th BPC Award

Fajardo adds to illustrious PBA career with latest accolade

San Miguel’s June Mar Fajardo has won his 11th Best Player of the Conference award after a series of stellar performances in the 2024 Philippine Basketball Association Governors' Cup, further cementing the 6-foot-9 center as one of the greatest players in Philippine basketball history.

A 10-time PBA champion and 9-time PBA All-Star, Fajardo boasts an extensive list of accolades. Despite his recent Best Player of the Conference win, the Beermen fell to rivals Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, 4-2, in the Conference Semifinals. Currently, Ginebra and the TNT Tropang Giga — a team competing in the 2023-24 East Asia Super League — are tied 2-2 in the championship series.

Following the Governors' Cup, SMB will compete in the Commissioners' Cup starting Nov. 27.

In the 2024-25 EASL season, San Miguel sits in fourth place in Group A with a 0-1 record. At the league’s Tip-Off 2024 event on Oct. 2, the Beermen lost to Korea’s Suwon KT Sonicboom, 87-81. Fajardo contributed 19 points on 78% shooting and grabbed nine rebounds in 28 minutes of play.

San Miguel returns to EASL action on Nov. 13, hosting the P. LEAGUE+’s Taoyuan Pauian Pilots. The Pilots hold second place in Group A after defeating KT 91-70 on Oct. 23. This matchup, the first of two in Manila’s PhilSports Arena for the ‘Clash of Champions Manila,’ tips off between the Beermen and Taoyuan at 6:10 p.m. PHT.
