Lu Chun-Hsiang Named February POTM, Suwon KT’s Han, Four Chinese Taipei-Based Players Highlight TOTM

Lu’s 33-point game on Feb. 5 clinched Taoyuan’s spot in the EASL Final Four 2025 with a win over Hong Kong Eastern.

Lu Chun-Hsiang has been named East Asia Super League’s February Player of the Month following his outstanding performance in Taoyuan’s final regular season game on Feb. 5. The 6-foot-3 combo guard delivered a season-high 33 points, including five made 3’s, in a must-win matchup against Hong Kong Eastern to secure a Final Four berth.

Lu also headlines this month’s Team of the Month (TOTM), marking his second selection. He leads a lineup featuring four players from Chinese Taipei-based teams and one from the Korean Basketball League (KBL). New Taipei’s Joseph Lin and Sani Sakakini make their TOTM debuts, while Taoyuan import Treveon Graham also earns his first nod. Suwon KT’s Han Hui-Won rounds out the group, becoming the first Sonicboom player to receive the honor since Heo Hoon in October.

Han, named Player of the Game in Suwon KT’s regular-season finale against the San Miguel Beermen, tallied a season-high 15 points, hitting five of 12 from beyond the arc in a 94-81 victory. A key sharpshooter for Suwon KT, he averaged just over 11 points per game in 24 minutes, reaching double figures in four of the team’s six EASL contests.

Graham’s appearance comes as no surprise given his strong performances throughout the season. The 6-foot-5 forward averaged 28 points over Taoyuan’s first three games before missing a contest due to a plantar fasciitis strain. His spot on the TOTM was well-earned after a 20-point, 11-rebound performance against Hong Kong, showcasing his continued impact. His presence will be crucial for the Pilots as they take on the Ryukyu Golden Kings in the semifinals on March 7.

New Taipei also faced a win-or-go-home scenario in their final regular season game against Group B rivals, the Meralco Bolts, on Feb. 12. The Kings were without starting point guard and former NBA star Jeremy Lin, who suffered a right hamstring injury in a Jan. 21 EASL game against Busan KCC Egis.

Despite Meralco forcing a double-overtime battle, New Taipei clinched a 106-96 win to claim the last Final Four spot. Sakakini, named Player of the Game, dominated with 31 points and 12 rebounds, overpowering Meralco inside. Joseph Lin stepped up in his brother’s absence, scoring a season-high 16 points and drilling a clutch three-pointer from the right wing to seal the victory.

With EASL Final Four 2025 tipping off on March 7, this marks the final POTM and TOTM edition for the regular season. Below is a full list of this season’s Players of the Month:

  • October – Kerry Blackshear Jr. (Hiroshima Dragonflies)
  • November – Damian Chong Qui (Macau Black Bears)
  • December – Heo Ung (Busan KCC Egis)
  • January – Kenny Manigault (New Taipei Kings)
  • February – Lu Chun-Hsiang (Taoyuan Pauian Pilots)
